Who We Are

Senior Management Team:

Nigel Spring

Nigel is the Managing Director of the 1st Dental Group and, along with the Management Team, provides the strategic direction for all of our laboratories. Nigel joined 1st Dental Laboratories as Operations Director in 2008 and was quickly promoted to Managing Director. He holds an Honours Degree in Engineering Management and a Masters in Business Administration. He started his career in the Royal Air Force, and has subsequently worked with British Aerospace, Dunlop Aerospace, Meggitt and Avingtrans in a variety of senior management positions. At 1st Dental, his key roles are to execute a strategy that builds customer satisfaction and achieves profitable long term growth.

Jonathan Foxcroft

Jonathan joined the Board of Directors of 1st Dental in 2009 as Finance Director. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1988 whilst working for BDO Binder Hamlyn before moving into industry. He is experienced in adopting a wider commercial finance role within rapidly changing environments, focusing on business creation, integration and turnaround in a variety of manufacturing environments. At 1st Dental, his key roles are to manage the commercial aspects of the business, optimising returns within the available resources and support the execution of the business strategy.

Elisabeth Wagster

Elisabeth is the Group Sales & Marketing Manager and joined 1st Dental in March 2009 following a number of successful years within similar development roles elsewhere within the dental industry.

Stefan Roguszka

Stefan is the Group Operations Manager and has over 36 years technical experience in the manufacture of dental appliances. He holds an Honours Degree in Dental Technology and successfully managed our Ripley Laboratory before moving into the Senior Management Team

Gary Jenkinson

Gary rejoined 1st Dental in 2006 as Sheffield laboratory manager with over 23 years technical experience initially starting at our Scarborough laboratory.

Sel Baxter

After a number of successful years managing his own laboratory, Sel joined the group when it acquired his laboratory and was promoted to Field Operations Manager in 2007.

Fliss Stewart

Fliss joined 1st Dental in March 2007 and established the HR function in March 2008. She is currently studying for the PDS post graduate qualification in Human Resource Management with the CIPD.

James Mackie

Jim is the Group Quality and Training Manager and brings a wealth of experience in all disciplines and specialises in removable prosthetics, Jim was very proud to be the chairman of the DLA in 2007 and teaches regularly at Guys Hospital on behalf of the London Deanery, he has also lectured in the UK, Europe and Russia
